Our story

SPECIES ZERO was born from a passion for the music and how it is created. While my dog Crater and I were on the run from the police in 2022, I was staying with a good friend of mine who had acquired some vintage pieces of equipment he kept in his basement where he put me up to hide out where no one would see me. I started PLAYING WITH THE KORG VOCA and the YAMAHA RM1X GROOVEBOX and  have not stopped for a day since. I have since resolved all of my legal issues, and have been daily in the studio working on music that I want to hear. A mix of genres with influences throughout the eras that are like blood in my veins. Hip Hop, boom bap instrumentals with inspirations like DJ Premiere, The Alchemist, Evidence, Metal Fingers. Drum and Bass with 90's influences like LTJ Bukem, Grooverider, Ed Rush and Optical, Source Direct, and Goldie. Very drum focused. I love playing drums and programing drums. Build ups and breakdowns, drops that will take the listener on a ride. Accompanied by haunting dark and sinister sounds and melodies contrasted with uplifting energetic leads and deep rumbling rolling basslines. that will get any party jumping. I am humbled by my learning experiences and journey, and give the upmost respect to all the archetects and players before me. I hope that they would approve, and hopefully you do as well. I am looking forward to connecting on a deeper level with listeners of all ages who love Hip Hop and Electronic music. Let's listen and get the floor  bubbling
